Basically, is there any real performance difference between PC2 8500+ and all the way down to PC2 4200?

Looking for DDR2 to go in a Shuttle, aiming for 2Gb.

There certainly is. Bandwidth grows considerably as it gets faster. That translates into more fpm for games.

At ~£100 the pc6400 Geil or G.Skill would be great choices.

Tho for only 70 quid these pc5300 G.Skill are very cheap with good timings.

Apparently that's how they are packaged? (G-Skill)

Blimey those GSkills are cheap. Wish I'd got those now, serves me right for not buying OCUK.
