I'm getting the Asus P5E3 board and it supports DDR3 memory - but I've been told I can still use my DDR2 memory in it instead if I wanted to? Is this the case?

From what i can see....you seem to have been lied too ? I cant see a P5E3 board with both DDR2 slots and DDR3 slots. And seeing as there different (you cant physically fit DDR2 in DDR3 slots) i dont think it will work.

ddr2 will not phisicaly fit into ddr3 slots whoever told u it was possible is a muppet:( .

A couple of boards out there do support both types of ram module, but not the board you're talking about :S
