Hi there.

I recently purchased this ram - https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-090-CR

My old ram was just, well, old and slow.

My motherboard defo supports 800Mhz, becuase I checked in the manual. Cpu-z is telling me this -

Please help me? I dont actually know what the hell to do. Its basicly saying the ram is only 399mhz. It says the max bandwith is 400. This is what I dont understand. What am i doing wrong guys?

Thanks in advance.

Beacuse it's DDR2, the effective speed will be 800MHz. So it's correct. ie. double data rate.

Is this what you are asking?

or it becuase it's 399Mhz, this is down to rounding. Assuming your FSB is 266.66666 2/3 this actually comes to 399.99999 or 399MHz if rounded down.

Why would you want to do that?

Your memory is running asyncronously which is fine.

It depends on the mobo. Some you actually sepecify the ratio, others you can select the nearest frequency by changing the DRAM Frequency.

For 1:1 (Syncronous RAM) with a 266MHz FSB, this should be set to 533Mhz

However, i'd leave it at 800MHz on a 2/3 divider.
