Hi Guys I currently have the memory that's in my description and am either going for another set of 4gb or a set of 8 gb what's people's opinion's and will 12gb work with a set of 4gb and 8gb?

Please no comments saying upgrade to a ddr3 rig because don't have the funds and enjoy my computer the way it is.

Not sure how much DDR2 you'll still find around, certainly in high capacity sticks you'll likely be paying a bit of a premium.

DDR (any sort) needs a pair of sticks for the full bandwidth. If you have a pair and add a pair more, still good. In short, should be fine so long as you're sticking to pairs (so for 12GB a pair of 2GB and a pair of 4GB).

12 GB should work just fine, though I'd try and find a matched set of 4x 4 GB to minimise any potential problems.

I've just been looking at the list of supported CPUs. You should get a nice boost from a cheap quad core CPU.

are you running out of RAM at the moment? if your apps/games currently are not using the 4gb adding more wont make that much difference

just checking also that you are on a 64bit OS?
