ddr3-1600 memory - settings for 1066mhz?

Hi,

I'm building a new system and I'm aiming to overclock my 2.66ghz i7 920 as much as I can. I bought some 1600mhz ddr3 to have some headroom, as the default base clock of the 920 times the default memory multiplier makes it 1066mhz.

Of course I want to ensure the system is stable at the stock CPU speed. So, I guess I'm going to have to manually configure the memory settings to make it match the stock speed of the 920. What settings should I be concerned with? What timings is 1066mhz memory supposed to work on, given that normally the memory I use is 9-9-9-24 at 1600mhz? What about the voltage for 1066mhz?

Thanks

Use CPU-Z or similar to look at the timings table for your memory. This should give you various settings and voltages for different speeds.

You can also just run the settings for 1600mhz at slower speeds while you get your CPU overclock sorted out and then you can tighten your memory timings.
