Hi guys, I'm going to buy my Core i7 system this week I think. My plan is to get the 920 and oc it to around 3GHz (maybe even 3.06, to match the speed of the upcoming 950).

At the moment all I need to figure out is which memory to get. I know from my experiences of overclocking this motherboard that if you have low speed RAM then you can't clock the FSB as high.

But these Core i7's don't actually have FSB's any more, so does this come into the equation? Will the 3x2GB of PC3-10666 from Crucial do the job?

Great starter - sold loads over the last week or so - no complaints.

Whats your budget and how serios are you about overclocking?

I'm not really sure about my budget in all honesty. For the i7 920 + Motherboard (thinking P6T Deluxe without the toy) + RAM I'm hoping for no more than £600. I'm thinking I might need to get a better-than-stock cooler, probably a Zalmaan.

As for how serious at overclocking, I've done it quite a lot but I don't like doing it over-the-top, usually no more than 10-15%. I just think it's horrible that the 940/950 is £200 more expensive when you can just overclock the difference.
