ddr3 sli motherboard

its not for me my friend has bought some ddr3 and has 2 8800gtx graphics cards.

yes he is an idiot for not checking.

Maybe modified drivers for one of the P35 boards?

Not sure if they exist, i'm fairly sure some were floating around for P965/975X though.

Lol, quality. If he's got that much money to burn on DDR3 and 2x GTX's, then he should just buy one of these to tide him over

either that or wait until November/October time for the NForce 7 series boards to come out/X38 to be confirmed as SLi compatible (unlikely).

Obviously the P5K3 doesn't support SLi....maybe he should just return the RAM or one of the graphics cards?

I don't know (as it's unreleased), but i'm supposing Nvidia's Nforce 7 series of motherboards will support DDR3, unfortunately that's not until November, unless he wants to hang on I'd sell the DDR3.

Sli is pointless at this point in time.

I totally disagree...I've enjoyed SLI systems with both the 6 and 7 series and only went for a single card system once I downgraded to a 20" WS LCD.

SLI is only worth it for 30 inch screens

Not true either - there is decent gains at 1440x900 on a 19" Widescreen - with all settings maxed out at 1440x in BioShock a single 7900GTX drops into the mid 20fps region at some points in the game - with 2 of them the game never drops below 50fps... and same will become true later down the line with the 8800 series and newer games...
