DDR4 AMD 6 Core upgrade

The 12100F is a very good option. It might only be 4 cores / 8 threads but it's plenty fast and very efficient (which I take is a priority?)

It also gives you a nice upgrade path to a 12400F/13400F/13600F/13700F down the road if you need/want a bit more processing power.

Socket 1700 is EOL with the 13th gen but that doesn't mean it's not a good option for those people who just want a gaming rig that'll last 5 years until they will just buy a new Motherboard anyway.

with the below being 2 gens behind whats the chances of Ocuk stopping stocking this socket as i'm buying the parts weekly.don't want to get an LGA1200 board and struggle to get a new 11400F is all.
what exactly is your total budget?
ps: you don't have to get everything from ocuk, there are other etailers that may be cheaper

is socket 1700 the current newest? i'm still on 1150 so not kept up with all these modern sockets.

well i already have the ram thats being recommended above.so around £150-170 for cpu and maybe £100 max for motherboard? i could push more maybe if it can push me in to an upgrade path that can save me future upgrades/more modern socket etc.
i'd of gone DDR5 but the mobos bit pricy for my liking at £200 (ocuk).
I've not seen many other retailers for prices.always been with ocuk as the support was always decent but currently i just can't seem to get anything from them.like i ordered a monitor the other day, they took the £200,it was in stock, then 2 days later i get an email saying its not in stock.
IF you could DM me other known trusted retailers that would be great

oh dam,i knew you couldn't talk about these things in the actual forums but didn't know you couldn't DM about them.
Thanks i'll get watch that and get my google thinking cap on lol

AMD works out cheaper and free game bundle included (fwiw) - not seen prices elsewhere but the mobo is OOS at ocuk so you will have to get it elsewhere

ryzen 5600 is closely tied with the 12400f

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £283.98 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Hi.
Looking for the cheapest DDR4 AMD 6 core upgrade possible.
Looking for 16GB of ram.the motherboard doesn't need any bells and whistles for overclocking or anything special.

Its purely an upgrade from an older DDR3 I5-4590.light gaming and browsing mostly.
Thanks
The cheapest DDR4 AMD 6 core upgrade that I could find is the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor with 16GB of RAM. This processor is compatible with most AM4 motherboards and offers great performance for gaming and browsing. It also comes with a Wraith Stealth cooler, which is great for keeping the processor cool.
