The 12100F is a very good option. It might only be 4 cores / 8 threads but it's plenty fast and very efficient (which I take is a priority?)My basket at OcUK:
- 1 x **B Grade** MSI Pro B660M-A WIFI DDR4 - Intel B660 DDR4 Micro ATX Motherboard (SKU: BG-5D9-MS) = £110.00
- 1 x Intel Core i3-12100F 3.30GHz (Alder Lake) Socket LGA1700 Processor - Retail (SKU: CP-6AS-IN) = £119.99
- 1 x Team Group Vulcan Z T-Force 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (SKU: MY-0AK-TG) = £55.99
Total: £285.98 (includes delivery: £0.00)
It also gives you a nice upgrade path to a 12400F/13400F/13600F/13700F down the road if you need/want a bit more processing power.
Socket 1700 is EOL with the 13th gen but that doesn't mean it's not a good option for those people who just want a gaming rig that'll last 5 years until they will just buy a new Motherboard anyway.
