DDR4 Limit on Motherboard

Guys, if the mobo says that it takes DDR4 2133 ram, can i put DDR4 2400 in without causing any issues? It will still work ok?

It will be fine, The memory will run at the maximum speed the system can handle.

Jedec memory standards are always very low both x99 and z170 should run 'overclocked' 2400mhz memory without issue. As you creep up to and above 3000mhz up may have problem's running memory at full stated speed more so with x99 due to the more complex quad channel controller. Current games and applications show very little gain above 2400mhz on either x99 or z170 however so no need to worry about running super fast memory

Thanks. Going to get 2400 for my mobo which says 2133 is max
