Never liked G skill ram personally, must have had 3 replacements with RMA from them years ago and each kit was faulty, even still had another faulty kit when i moved to i7. Went to Corsair since and no issues.
What kind of prices are DDR4 expected to settle at in 6+ months or so anyway? Are we talking about £100 cheaper than now?

I'm kind of glad I didn't wait for this platform. Bang for buck is dire.
Considering delidding my 4770k but doubt I'll get that much more than 4.4 anyway
Who really needs these high ram speeds? I can't think of anything I use that benefits. Shame it wasn't ddr3 on this platform tbh

Any idea when the avexir platinum range or crucial ballistix elite range are going to be back in stock? seriously looking at an x99 build but the timings on the corsair ram is frankly a bit crap for the money.
I'm on the same page as the OP - would like to get a haswell-e system but put off by memory. It's £1200 for 64gb of DDR4, or £600 for 64gb of DDR3 - I'm not keen enough to sink the difference. Will stay on Ivy-E for the time being.
