ddr4

iirc it will be available in 2013, and be mainstream by 2014

however, even if it were released today it would be a fat lot of good, because there wont be any motherboards around that will be supporting it for a long time

MM, that was where my question was going to go, any ddr4 mobo's... i assume they'd be in the £200's anyway, since they'd be first on market.

DDR3 motherboards were expensive when they first came out, same as ddr2, so you can expect them to be around £200 or more

when ddr4 comes out, and they want to bring out the step, up, aka ddr5... will they have re-label it super ddr4? since it will conflict with ddr5 in graphics? lol.

They can call it DDR5. The ones on graphic cards are called GDDR5.

But yes, I can't see this being avaliable to the normal person until 2014.

derp, how did i miss the letter g! oh well, looking forward to the next gen of things because i'll actually have the money for it :>

Well, even then they'll probably be heavily priced like DDR3 was when it was first released. I can only imagine them being reasonably priced in 2015-2016. So don't expect to have the money for it just yet :p.
