He wants me to update the BIOS, which I've downloaded from ASUS. Its a .cap file and apparently doesn't needed to be renamed if you go into the BIOS and use the flash utility. I've put it onto a FAT32 formatted USB stick. To get my DDR5 RAM running at 6000 with my ASRock X670E I needed to upgrade my BIOS a few times, if your brother done that already then please ignore me
There's only one BIOS update file on the ASUS website.Follow the instruction which comes with the file but make sure you read the small prints as some versions requires older ones installed first hence the multiple installs.
Probably not, he can build a PC but when it comes to things like updating BIOS or setting up RAM he's not so good.Has he enabled XMP?
That's what will need (enable xmp) to be done to run at 6000mhz.Probably not, he can build a PC but when it comes to things like updating BIOS or setting up RAM he's not so good.
Do a BIOS update and set XMP to profile one. That's what will need (enable xmp) to be done to run at 6000mhz.
