Hi Guys,

New to this PC stuff, I'm looking at upgrading my ram currently from 16gb DDR5 to 24GB by adding an 8gb stick, I was wondering what RAM will be compatible in my system. I've attached a screenshot of whats already in it, any suggestions would be grateful.

Thank you

You wouldn't normally upgrade 2x8GB sticks by adding a third 8GB module, you normally want to stick to matching pairs of sticks.

If you need more RAM you'd be best served removing your 2 existing sticks and adding 2x16GB sticks.

What are you trying to achieve with the RAM upgrade? What needs more RAM?

I can't find any information for that part number, is your PC an HP?

A bit weird that it has EXPO/XMP profiles for running at 5200, that's a slow speed and I wouldn't normally expect it to need that.

Since the memory chips are Micron, a Crucial stick would be my best guess for compatibility, but mixing sticks with different XMP/EXPO profiles (or that don't need it) is going to have unpredictable results.

Hard to recommend anything other than upgrading to 2x16 :(

Thats correct its a HP PC.

What two RAM sticks do you recommend I buy?

The pc product number is 8C6T9EA#ABU
Hmm. The configurators don't expect it to be in this format.

If I google it, I get HP 40L GT21-1021. Does this look correct?

If so, then I think this would be the output from the Kingston configurator:

Very limited part numbers suggested there, those are just basic JEDEC modules without XMP/EXPO.

Is it possible to manually enable EXPO/XMP on your PC? If it is, you could pick from a lot more options, like a Kingston Fury kit instead of those basic green things.
