De - creasing curtains?

For some reason my bedroom curtains have developed creases. I took one down, put it on my ironing board, put a sheet over the red material and ironed it. Made no difference. They're not exactly expensive curtains. They've got a lining/backing fabric and cost about £30 from B & Q.

Just wondering if anyone has any idea of a good way to get them perfectly straight again because it doesn't look like they're going to de-crease themselves. Should I soak them in water and hang them back up on the curtain rail to dry, do you think that would work or make it look worse?
I don't know how well the photos demonstrate, but basically they look like they need a good pressing to make them perfectly smooth again, particularly nearer the edges.

can’t harm to try. Our lounge curtains said dry clean only, we put them in the washing machine anyway and they turned out fine (in case you were concerned about getting them wet).

Yeah, think I'll do that. I always enjoy a chance to use my new Samsung Ecobubble. :p

Hang them up in a steam filled bathroom maybe?

That's actually a really good idea too! I think I'll run my shower for a bit and then see what it does to the curtains. When I tried to iron a curtain, I sprayed it with a mist of cold water before ironing. Didn't work though. But maybe filling the iron with water and using the steam function on the iron could work better. But I'll try the bathroom steam first. If that doesn't work, I'll wash and hang them. If that doesn't work, I'll either pretend the creases are not there or invest in some better quality curtains. Or maybe get them drycleaned (but probably not).

I put ours through the wash last week and the wife ironed them while still wet using our (hers really ) steam generator iron and they came up lovely.
