so, last thursday i baught 2x 320GB seagates ( http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-154-SE )
in short, one was absolutely outstanding, then put in the other one and it makes a kind of "beep" noise, sounds like viberating, wont even show up in bios, i presume its dead but would like a second opinion as ive never had this problem before, about to ship off for RMA but wouldnt mind seeing if theirs a glimmer of hope left in it :( anyone?

ive heard the clicking from the other when it was copying across the xp files but thought that was due to it being quite active like, would ocuk take them both back as ones faulty and the other has emitted the clicking noise? or is the second questionable?

I'm not sure on OCUKs policy, but if you're sending one back you may as well get them to test both for piece of mind. If its a faulty batch or bad transit there's a chance they're both bad.

im probs going to do a seatools test then go on from their, thanks a lot on the reply and takeing your time to forward me to the previous posts mate, much appreciated

Similiar story here - only had it in a few minutes and started making gravelley noises (for want of a better description) when acessed - few reboots later it wouldn't even show up in the BIOS. Fortunatly its the only 7200.11 drive I've bought and I was building a new system so nothing lost... gonna stick to the 7200.10s for now.
