All over.
Got my new OCZ 520W modstream this morning. Popped it in, installed it by the book as you would. Pushed the power button, heard a bang and smelt burning metal. **** I thought. Brand new PSU dead. OK, mark of a good PSU is that if it fails it keeps everything alive. With that in mind, I proceeded to install the old PSU with the hope of everything working again. Not so. :/ Nothing turned on. Mobo standby light was off (should be on), and I'm guessing my CPU is gone as well :(

Athlon 64 3500 venice
2Gb Corsair RAM
X800 GTO
3 HDD 60 GB IDE, 200 GB SATA, 300 GB SATA
Asus A8V deluxe mobo.

I guess I've now got the hassle of seeing what I can salvage and sending the busted stuff back.

sounds like it mate, did you buy everything from ocuk because if you brought diff parts from diff stroes then it will be a lot of hassle, my psu went bang yesterday aswell i just hope it was only the psu and not everything else

:( No, I haven't bought all the parts from OCUK. Ones which were: SATA Hard disks, DVD-RW, Graphics card, RAM, CPU cooler.

I don't think my mobos got a warranty since it was OEM :/

How do I test the CPU, since I only have one (dead) 939 mobo?

Besides I thought the PSU wouldn't cause anything else to fail...

So ***** off.

EDIT: Just noticed on the back of the OCZ it says 220V AC only. :S We're 230V. Too much power into the PSU perhaps?

Same thing happened to me with my OCZ powerstreme 520W it wasnt even a year old.

They have a 3 year warranty on them so i sent an email complaining to there support department now i have a brand new 600W PSU, all i had to do was send the broke one back to them in Holland

Bad news was i had to buy a new mobo and CPU :(
