I have this monitor also, so expect at some point to have to do this. Can one of you chaps who's done it already post up your monitor disassemble instructions if possible ?.

Best to just unsolder the heatsink and attached diodes. I spent ages fiddling around trying to do it without doing that but with no success.

I seem to recall the heatsink is soldered at three points and there are three other diodes to desolder in addition to the one to be replaced.

Finally got somebody to do the soldering this afternoon, and I'm currently sat in front of a fully working and operational (battlestation) 3008.

Mega thanks to Banano for the Diode. :D

I'll post a pic of the working screen when I get home!
