20 hours, looks like a 'shuffle/walk' locomotion noted so far, (maybe a solution for gliding sickness?) gonna have a go in a bit

never played the original, looks like doom 3 VR/Arizona sunshine in space.. handheld motion detector. Looks sweet

Felt compelled to buy it. The only negative opinion or review I've seen, has been a performance issue. The comment that pushed it over the edge, was somebody noting that the conversion guys behind this have clearly been influenced by the Doom 3 ways of doing things.

Quick edit*

Buy it, it's everything people say it is. just had 15 minutes with it, ran flawless at default settings 90 fps... motion is tele or track, point with head, vr hands, points and pickups. Very Doom 3.

Only time motion quease kicked in was moving down the steps, tele down instead. Only issue I had was aiming.. maybe me:)

i like it, but its got click rotation? why not an option for smooth. bleh gonna have to get the devs to fix it, knocks me straight out of immersion

Is this the same game as Dead Effect 2 but just converted for VR? I own both DE1 & 2 and not sure I want to buy it again if it's the same game.

It's the same game, there was or is a discount for owners of the original though.

But if you're in to the whole free motion, duck and cover, point and shoot type thing, then you might consider it anyway. I wouldn't say it scale and paces all that well, but it's very satisfying if you like that sort of thing.

The dev In the steam forum is very active on noting a lot of those scale and pacing issues, and work is in progress. There's also a multiplayer coming, and co-op, which for the price alone should tip the balance.
