Dead GPU?

Hi guys

I have a 670 that i am using till vega is out before choosing my next card and have been overclocking it to get as much out of it as i could.

While in heaven the screens all turned off and gpu fans went full speed.This is the same after a restart and have to resort to using motherboard vga.


Looking around this all points to a dead gpu? Anything else i could try before dumping it.

Yes i do have it set to at start up.How can i disable it when the gpu does not show up in windows? Do i have to flash original bios?

What utility are you using?

I had a problem like this with afterburner, I had to boot into safe mode and then delete a config file for afterburner somewhere I think.

Was using afterburner and that was stable but dabbled with asus gpu tweak and that is when things started to play up.

What i find odd is that nvflash does not detect the card.

Can you boot into windows with the onboard graphics, then uninstall GPU tweak and/or afterburner then see if it boots with the GPU?

I am running on the igpu and have uninstalled the gpu programs and even gave system restore a shot but same symptoms.Can you fry gpu with unstable clocks?

ok found the card in device manager once i enabled show hidden devices which is a start but it states

Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

Ignore the above this after using ddu the card disappeared
