Hey,
my sisters PSU went pop a few weeks back, I tried replacing the PSU but it still didn't work so i presumed it'd fried the mb too. After installing a load of new parts today I discover it's actually fried everything, CD drives and hard drive included. When I plug the HDD into the computer nothing happens, it's not even detected by the BIOS. So basically it sounds like there was a power surge (maybe caused by the PSU dieing or maybe that was the cause), and has fried the drive electrics. I've heard it's possible to replace the electrics if I can find an identical hard drive, anyone ever heard/tried this?
