Ok, after finding that my rma'd replaced 2gb of ocz ram now works :), my Samsung Spinpoint T133 400Gb HDD seems to attracted the click of death & refuses to load windows :(

During beginning of Windows XP boot can clearly hear 'click' then another 'click' a second later and will just constantly have the blue loading bar going across the screen, but no disc activity.
Have managed to copy useful/important files off to another HD this afternoon, can't find my backup disks atm.
Will run diagnostic software on it later and see what results say, before returning to Samsung, as it's 17 months old.

Ironically over last few weeks, have been looking at getting 1 or 2 more of these to either put into Raid 1 or 5. But after failing has now put me off buying another Samsung for the time being.

So my question being, what make/models/sizes & how many drives should I replace it with? (sata, either going to use XP Pro or Vista X64).
(If it's any help currently have an IDE 400Gb that only got 8Gb free.)

Also, how much would the Raid 5 impact on my current system? (i.e. cpu useage?)

* out of interset anyone had experience with Samsung rma's?
Also "To return for replacement, pack the drive in an anti-static bag (original SAMSUNG box). You must always keep the original box and packing materials for storage or shipping." (taken from samsung site)
What if I haven't got the original packaging? don't tell me I have to go out and buy a hd box?
