Dead Island 360/PS3/PC

Had mixed feelings when I brought it due to the reviews that are out there, but like everyone else once you actually play its a different kettle of fish :D

Only had one glitch so far when we trying to ram a zombie in the pickup, some how managed to get him to go through the wall and unable to kill him so had redo the quest again. Only real issue is that it can at times be slow to load the textures when entering/exiting areas (PS3).
 
Anyone else had the audio-loop-FPS-dropping-until-crash glitch online yet?

Happened just, the same audio (some electric noise from a modded weapon) started to play over and over, then overlapping more and more..
FPS kept dropping until it reached 0 at which point it just froze up completely and had to power off the 360.
 
Ok I went on last night and tried the co-op for the first time.

I had the same issue at the start as some of you had joined some radomers one guy was ok looking to get stuff done and the other two ***** ran about killing all they saw which left us stuck waiting for them. (but you do have the option of kicking people off which helps)

I eventually joined some dude last night, some guy from Mississippi ZOMBIE020 (I think that's his game tag), and I had a BRILLIANT night, this guy was ALL business.

We made the quick decision to go straight through ALL the side quests first on Moresby town. Anyone gets trapped the other helps out.

Moresby town is insanely difficult compared to the resort, the Hordes come from every were, getting surrounded is pretty easy at times (love it).

Some missions require two or more people to get the job done right.

In one mission we had to turn some water hydrants off.

The guy I was playing with used himself as bait while I sneaked in and turned them off. Great team work.

So if you do play with the same right minded people, co-op takes the game to a new level. Recommended.

i will be on tonight for some coop action just need to finish sp a friend told me im near the end.put about 30 hours in so far and really enjoyed it so far i can see it being even better coop :)
i would give this game a 8 out of 10 due to the amount of all out fun i have had on it and obviously the replay value is good due to it having coop.

i did run into a common problem on ps3 when you have online enabled it does not seem to save all the sub and story mission if you intend playing on your own so switch network before entering a game to SP or LAN .
i did not use the continue feature i used load instead due to me having the same problems not sure if anyone else had this happen but i went from chapter 8 to 3 and all the work in between was lost due to it not saving.
 
Im still only about 30 % through this game, I just tried the co-op to see how it played. Was great fun and if only one of my mates had this game I think I would have been through it a lot quicker.

a lot of the time it seems safer to run through the hordes rather than stand and fight.

Some times there can be just too many of them for one person, or maybe my weaopns are just not strong enough at the moment.
 
Having trouble finding this in stock anywhere. Game have it but its 47.99 :rolleyes: its around 35 everywhere else but they're all sold out. Not paying over the odds for it.

Sure gameplay have the special edition for 29.99... They did this morn anyway?
 
lucky i got my copy then! i dont think my mates ordered his yet though.. oh well shouldnt be long before more stock arrives. thing is will it stay that price as its over a £10 cheaper than elsewhere.
 
360 got a title update tonight. Save games still work which is good after the horror storeys of the playstation patch wiping them.
 
Managed to nab it in Tesco for 34quid played it for a few hours and its rather good. Bloody hard though I don't think I've managed to take out a thugs yet without having to resort to deo bombs or molatovs.

Thugs are quite easy when you know how, aim for their arms so that you break their bones or cut off the arm depending on your weapon choice. Blunt breaks, sharp cuts.

Once both arms are useless aim for the head! :D

As i posted earlier, GAME and Gamestation, being owned by the same parent company, are just being used to manipulate high street pricing.

Now sure there's other shops, but to the average gamer they only think of those two stores..

GAME had enough in stock to cover pre-orders at £40.
All the companies other stock went to Gamestation, and they sold it for £43.
Once they sold out, next load of stock went to GAME for the price you mentioned.
Excuse - well its sold out at the other store.

Yeah, no ****, thats because your manipulating the system..

Since i never pre ordered it, i got it from GS in the end..
They are running an 'extra £5 when you trade in 2 titles towards a brand new title'

So traded in Blops (because I'm bored of it) and got £12 towards, and Fifa 10 (for 20p! whoop) so i got the bonus £5 :p
Then had £20 on my loyalty account, so cost peanuts really.
And i dare say they will probably run a "Gears 3 for £5 when you trade in any September release title!" like they usually do, and ill be done with this by then.

Don't think they are harmless once their arms are removed though, they then play dirty and try to bite/head butt you!

Just whack them, retreat - whack them, retreat... works for me!
 
Been playing through with Sam B, my god he's a bit useless?
For a "Tank class" he takes so much damage and the health regen perks are really crappy =/

His rage skill isn't too good either, except for when you have loads of normal weaker undead spread slightly apart.

Yep, struggling with him at certain sections of the game. Hating his fury attack, in fact I don't think i've used it for a few days! :rolleyes:
