Hi all,
Wasn't sure what forum to post this in so il put it in the general one. Ok..so my PC turned itself off (im on a crappy spare one atm) out of the blue..just died. Its done it before and its been fine to rebott etc but this time nothing.

Iv turned it off and on numerous times and all taht happens is that the fans start to spin and it just goes dead.

My first thought is that its the PSU.. however it starts to power up?
My second thought and the one that I think it is, is that its the motherbard (DFI Ultra D) as I dont even get to the bios screen.

My case dosen't have a speaker so I dont know if there are any bleeps to help me diagnose what died on me. Could anyone confirm the above thought or if its anything else that could be the problem? Im getting ready to order a new motherboard.. just don't want to if its the wrong thing :(

Any advice welcomed.

I built it a month or two ago, i could whip the PSU out of this one and try it. If it does the same, motherboard?

Quite reluctant to use local shop as they are a rip off.

this is 20pin, but the OCZ PSU came with a 24pin extention as it can also be used as20pin, could i use the same extension for this one (antec)...

is was wrong, the OCZ is a 24pin and has a 24>20pin extension, DOH!

Might just order PSU and motherboard :( :rolleyes:

Not sure what to get between;

Asus A8N5X
Abit KN8 / AN8
DFI Infinity

Asus and Abit have never let me down, my current DFI looks as though it has... not going ofr anything expensive. Comments appreciated.

Turns out it was the power supply :o just as well i ordered both.

Its a OCZ 520W Powerstream and still under warranty as i got it in 2004. Never returned anything to OCZ before, can it be done via their site or do I go via the site i got it from?

:confused:
