Hey!

This afternoon I set my new VX2025 20.1" Monitor up, checked using LCD test and im sure I saw no dead pixels.

But now i've seen one! Top right...It is black...It doesnt show in black backgrounds but in every other colour it does...

I always thought they are either there at the start or not at all

:(

Too bad. They can develop over time though.

I have a bright green one sitting in the top right of my screen and I can't get rid of it :( .
you do learn to ignore it eventually though.

You can sell it back under the distance selling act; but as there are strict guidelines on acceptance of dead pixels (ISO standard or something) the retailer can under law charge you a re-stock fee as the item is not defective in the eyes of the law.

Sad, but true.

Couldnt I just send it back without mentioning dead pixels?

"If you are not totally satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 7 days from receiving the goods for a refund provided it is in pristine condition in its original box and packaging"

(NOT OCuK BTW)

Iv got the best idea..

all eyes have blind stops, your right eyes got a dead spot on the left of center and the left has one on the right.
you can easily check it by drawing 2 dots on a piece of paper about 25 Cms apart. For your right eye, close the left eye and with your right eye concentrate on the right dot. start with the paper close to your face and slowly move it away, at somepoint the other dot should dissapear because its at your eyes blind spot.

now i see your starting to get to my point, keep one eye shut and dont move your eye balls, and keep that blind spot over the dead pixel.

what if it gets tired?
simple just switch eyes ;)

wow shimy your great!! :D

If its a true dead pixel (all 3 (red/green/blue) subpixels failed), then I believe Viewsonic do indeed have a zero dead pixel policy on their screens, as long as the screen is less than 30 days old.

After that, they have a zone scheme, so it depends where the pixel is if they will replace an older panel.

Anyway here's a link to Viewsonic (Australia), perhaps you can find and check if Viewsonic have the same policy's over here.

Pixel shows up in

RED, GREEN, BLUE, WHITE.

Does not show up in Black.

SO must be fully dead.

Im sending it back under distance sales act and getting another.

Please could you let me know how this went? and which retailer you purchased from.. I'm after a TFT good retailer who has an excellent RMA service on dead pixels etc.

Mail in trust.

It might not be a dead pixel at all. Can you take a screenshot for us so we can make sure?

Do they replace it with a brand new one? or a referb..

Usually a refurb, but the 2025 is new so maybe a new one... Im not sure i'd be happy with a refurb, but then a refurb really is the same as new...?!

A Screenshot...! LOL

if you report it to viewsonic inside 10day or two weeks or something...you get a brand new replacement. Dont wait...do it tomorow!

I got one about 5 weeks after getting that monitor...and they would aonly send me a replacement...not gaurenteed brad new. I can never see it its so small so Ive still got it. Might RMA it in a few weeks

Hi mate,

Yea its Viewsonic I called, they wanted me to send over proof of purchase from 2 days ago, so I did.

Thanks for letting me know that mate, at least I know it'll be a new one now :)
