Teased a little while ago, the DR: DR has a digital launch date of 19th September with a physical release in November.

Dead Rising returns with modern graphics!
More than just a remaster, this Deluxe Remaster is a full graphical overhaul of the first game in zombie-slaughtering action game series "Dead Rising.
"This remaster has also been fully voiced, supports auto-saves, and has various other quality-of-life features.
Witness the unmatched mayhem and freedom for yourself!

Story:
One day, the peaceful town of Willamette, Colorado, found itself put under quarantine by the U.S. army.
Frank West, a freelance journalist, smells a scoop and finds his way into the only shopping mall in town.
Unfortunately, the mall had turned into a living hell, crawling with countless zombies.Help will arrive in 72 hours, so it's up to him to find out the truth behind this incident before it's too late!- Realistic graphics reborn through RE ENGINE!All of the graphics, including the characters and environments, have been renewed, and greatly improved over the original.
facial expressions, material textures, and blood spatter all look much more realistic.
Overwhelming hordes of zombies fill the screen with completely remade graphics!- Smoother and friendlier to play! The gameplay of the original remains intact, but there are various quality-of-life improvements, such as auto-saving, revamped controls, improved UI, and many other details.
The game is now also fully voiced for improved immersion.

Spend 72 hours the way you want!
The game takes place in a giant shopping mall.
Use regular weapons like guns and baseball bats, or use daily household objects. Anything goes when it comes to survival!
Rescue other survivors, and try out some new clothes while you're at it.
Just remember that under these extreme circumstances, it's not just zombies, but psychopaths you'll have to deal with as well. Who poses the biggest threat, zombies or humans!?

Standard edition is £39.99 while Deluxe is £49.99 with a few costumes and additional BG music. Game will be available on Xbox, PS5 and Steam.

I LOVED this game as a kid, blew my mind. Of course the re-releases weren't too long ago, so it's not as fresh as it could've been but damn, this'll be a day one for me.

Key points:
NEW voice actor for Frank :(
Improved AI (MASSIVELY needed)
Steps placed in front of survivor deposit area (IYKYK)
Fully voiced characters inc. survivors
Gone Guru NEEDs to remain
Uses RE Engine
Hopefully humour is retained (should be as trying to be very faithful)
4K60 on console

Not a huge fan of the new voice actor for Frank, apart from that I think it'll be good.

Still trying to get a physical remaster of Dead Rising on the PS4, might have to import it. :(

Seems it was only available overseas...?

New voice actor definitely doesn't have the same dweeby vibe but thankfully it's a game with some chest hair!

I'm hoping this turns out good. I've always wanted to give this game a proper go but never round to it for some reason.

I remember playing the original on Xbox 360 and absolutely loving it couldn't put it down.

Remember having to look at the in game watch a lot but can't remember what for.

I think you had to keep an eye on the time as the zombehs got nasty at night with red eyes? Also some quests were timer related iirc.

I played it to the death on the 360 and became a big fan of the series and those hilarious bosses. Not sure if I want to jump into this remaster though.

I am so glad Gone Guru was mentioned. Holy crap when I heard that track for the first time upon leaving the mall to go outside only to be run over by some mob bosses on a jeep, I was in awe. I bought it and never forgot that moment!

I’ll check this out I think only one I finished was number 3, it didn’t have Frank in it from what I recall it was the one they did on Xbox one

Dead Rising goes down as one of the best games of all time (for me).
Big learning curve, but once you start leveling the character and understanding how it all works, you really became a zombie killing master. :D

I never had this game (think it was Xbox only??) but played at a friend's. I really wanted to enjoy it, but I wasn't a fan of the timer part.

I'll certainly try it again and give it the time (heh) it deserves though.

I would hope they might reconfigure it slightly so you could legitimately do everything.

From memory, the original had events happen to close together to kill every maniac and save everyone.
