Hi Guys

May be a daft question but i was playing dead rising last night and i'm on the part where you see the old guy for the second time and that guy (can't remember his name) tries to persuade him to come with us but he refuses until they get a safer exit or something ( i hope that makes sense)

Anyway.....

when i did that part last night, on the way back (going through the food court) i went straight through and found myself face to face with the clown boss, i had a couple of messages on the com before that point but can't remember what they said, i died on my first attempt but found the fight quite easy its just messing around with the guards to get more ammo etc. so i started from my last save and thought i'd have another crack, i have tried 4 times now but every time i gio there i don't seem to encounter the clown or get those coms? can anyone tell me if i'm doing something wrong or if the events are timed so i have to hang around for a little bit etc.

TIA

G

This game is time specific, you need to go to the Ride once Otis tells you there is someone trapped on the ride. So you may as well leg it to the old guy then wait about over their until you get the com.

Also once complete go up to the ride again and stop it. you will release Greg who you follow to open up a useful shortcut (do not forget to grab the chainsaws and then the criminal origins book in the bookshop near the cops you killed)

There's a great walk through on there if you're really stuck. Like Kronologic said, it's time specific. You want to aim to get to that clown boss whist it's still day light on the first day. Rush through to get to the last boss and once you've done that, you can play the game again and attempt to save survivors etc.
I've not actually finished it myself, I just couldn't get into it. Really started to annoy me after that clown boss!

Ah you should give it more of a chance, the game really gets much better once you level a bit and get further into the story.

Also Otis won't call you about a certain survivor / event if you're in that area. So hang out for a while in the food court or save someone else and you'll get the call :)

The zombies are a little faster and more agressive. Also there time is a time window, so eventually he will disapear.

You don't even get the call for the clown scoop until sometime in the evening on day 1 anyway. You can either do him that night or wait til early the next morning, there's quite a large time window for this scoop.
