WTF is it with dead rising? On all other 360 games i have come across the text has been fine and still perfectly readable on my 28" widescreen CRT TV. But Dead rising is really poor. Its like it was made with only HDTV's in mind... Is there anything i can do to make it bigger/clearer? Without buying a new LCD Tv that is...

I find it really hard to read on a hdtv (small one mind). Frankly its still quite small on a projector.

Are your eyes alright mate? It's perfectly fine for me on both a 18" PC monitor and a 37" TV

dunno i do wear glasses but on a 19" hdtv sitting about 2.5 metres away i find it a bit of a pain to read the subtitles.

I changed the display settings to widescreen which made the text readable enough to play.

I got a VGA cable (so i could play through my monitor) a couple of weeks back and finally I’m 100% certain of what Otis is waffling about :D

i believe the advanced scart cable clears up the fuzzy text doesnt it?

Text is considerabley clearer with the advanced scart, although I don't have the game, on everything else the answer would be yes :)

Cheers guys.. Think i am goign to have a stab at one of those AOC 32" when i get paid... :)

Just another question about Dead Rising... I was playing for a short while the other night and saved my game just after the black dude opens the vents. When i went to play it again tonight it started again from the beginning and i had to do all the helicopter bits again but still had all my previous pp... Is this right? The game just seems a little unfinished for a capcom game...

2.5m is quite far away for a 19" i reckon, i sit 1.3ft from my 17" pc monitor when playing games (or doing anything!) and only 1.5-2m from my 26" hd lcd for gaming

The game is finished, you just haven't quite grasped how it plays and how to play it... if you get me :).

Eh... What am i missing? All i see is that when you die, even if you save your game you do not start from save points but right back at the beginning. You have to do the helicopter bit again, talk to the guy outside by the helicopter again, go to the lobby and then race through the zombies to get to the stairs again, wait for the guy to weld the door and go through the ducts again, find and reunite mr and mrs mayer again etc etc etc... I did manage to get further this time and find the black guy having a shootout with the guy from the helipad but then got killed... Is there a continue? no just a load game or save and quit??? Do you only get 1 life? I know its realistic but come on... At least let you continue from last save point...

It's not hard to stay alive to be honest. It's well worth levelling up for some of the harder bits though rather than diving right in.

Its not really that its the fact that if you do die or have to go out or to bed you have to go through EVERYTHING again....
Hmm... yes it is a pain but it only happened to me twice and I've played through the game a few times now.

depends what option you select on death

you can opt to start again with your current level or not

its the best way really..you need to build up a few levels before you really tackle the game...

I found it easier to rescue the 2 people on the roof early on then restart and to get upto level 6/7 really quickly..means you have a couple more life blocks and can carry a couple more items..gives you a bit of a head start

and its possible to skip the helicopter/photos bit..same as skipping the cut scenes

You can skip the heli bit by pressing start, that saves you about 10 minutes of crap (and annoying!) music. lol. :) then go and run zombies over in the tunnels to get levels up.
