Dead Rising

Really? What about the TRL: legends time limits you busted. Britain in that was a bitch. :p
ignore wrong thread

lol

/edit

I did them all first time, except for that of Japan, the cut scene didnt cut in quick enough even though the boss died with 3 seconds left :( - the second time round i had 45seconds spare :)

The time limit feature does sound daunting, hell I didn't like the idea when I first found out that the game was contained in a 72hr zone. However as said, it's the best feature of it.

You can't complete the game in one sitting, actually you can but there'll be lots of bits you missed out, so you'll have to go back and do them again. For example, in my first run through the entire game I missed out on a lot of boss type chars - e.g adam, the fat lady cop, the long haired punk geezer, and cletus the gun store owner.

On my second run through the game I did all the above bosses and got to see the lovey cut scenes too. The time limit gives the game replayability, then the brilliant achievments extends on that even further :)

ok so u finish the game and start again? is all your progress saved from the last one, so u can do all the bits u have missed?, so u dont have to do all the game again?

Yup. When you die, you're given the option to load your last save, return to the game or save and quit. The latter allows you to restart the game with the same level as you had when you previously died.

So you can hit Lv50 in no time, especially once the special ops turn up...I'm already at lv45 on my second run through the game and find it less tedious (more health) and so much fun.

I totally agree. I've just started my second run (Level 37 atm) and i'm loving unarmed combat. I killed 80 with my bare hands the first time you go into Entrance Plaza. Removing the heads of downed zombies is so satisfying.

so a class game then?? worth sticking with?

Definately, and it does become a 'different' game once you hit level 12 or so. Having more health, more slots and a stronger attack makes you start feeling like hero rather than a survivior.

The achivements really do link in nicely with its replayability. You can say, this time I'll concentrate on killing psychos, saving people, killing zombies or taking PP shots. I'm kinda nerdy with collecting things (found everything in Condemned, found all the fruits in Kameo, etc) so I quite like the idea of trying a game and finding a particular thing.

My guy is currently level 49, I've finished overytime mode and tried on all the clothes. I still have all the pycho's to kill (keep missing the gun shop owner) and I should nail Frank the Pimp today.

Bad form to quote yourself I know but finally nailed 'Frank the Pimp'. It's taken me ages but feels good to achieve it. :) If anyone wants my solution I'll be happy to post it.

Also got level 50 on same run :)

Ive got a lot to do still i missed the last case file as i took too long so this time around im going for survivors if i can! Altho they are a bit thick and im having some issues. I got two out of that barricade and i goto the gym to save it. They follow me in but the doors dont open for A.I so i had to punch them thru the door to carry on lol

Is it really only 5hrs real life time to 72hrs in game? Seemed like i was playing it for a lot longer, thats proberly why i was so late to the case file.

To start with you don't want to try to do too much. Just worry about the case files and only do scoops you know you easily do. Once you've 'finished' the main quest line you'll be a high enough level to go back and try to save more people, kill all the psycho's etc.

One tip is try and do the Andy the Clown scoop to get the mini-chainsaws and open the shortcut.

Someone help please :P

I have just killed that clown and got that guy out of the ride.

Hes taken me to some toliets and said it a shortcut  i see no shortcut just toliets ??????

I need to hurry up and get back to fight that guy with the sniper rifle with brad. Hoping this chainsaw will help me now to defeat him.

That got me too. Jump onto the sink counter and look up. He has opened a hatch. Press b and insta warp back to the paradise plaza toilets. Saves the whole mess of going through the park.

I think that's where I'm going wrong. I'm trying to do it all at once and I'm running out of time to do the case files. I'm getting stressed thinking, 'I need to kill more Zombies and get more PP, take more photos, do the case files, save the people aggrrrhhhh!!!
I think I'm gonna start a new game and do what you say, do all the case files then go back and go for PP and save people.

I have messed up

Lost track of the time and all the case files have expired !

Just got the drugs for brad and ran out of time.

What the best thing for me to do now ?

Start all over again ? like delete the game save ?

Carry on as i am and make it to the time when the chopper is coming ? if i do this can i do the case files again with a higher ranking ?

Up to you really. I'd carry on so that I level up. Try and get a few achievements and you will still get calls from Otis about survivors to rescue. You won't get the 'A' ending though. However if you do carry on you can quit later, or still catch the chopper and get a different ending, and then start again with all your stats increased and with knowledge of how to play better, try and blitz the case files!

DONT delete your save file. Its cumulative so you save all your stats when you restart. The only reason I could think of to delete it is if it got corrupted or something!

That's the same place I failed during my first play through. I got sidetracked fighting the clown then ran out of time when doing the store manager part. I kept playing just getting as many survivors as I could and leveling up so it would be easier next time.

I've got about 12 hours to go now in my second run, finished all the case files this time.

What SiD says, by carrying on until the end you'll be better prepared to know what's coming the next time you play. Your stats will be saved as well.

Have a bit of fun as well and explore a bit. Try for the Stunt driver achivement (jump a car 33'), strike 10 zombies with a bowling ball and put on a pretty frock.
