Dead Rising

Gameplay have sent my copy of DR out, should hopefully get it tomorrow. If today was anything to by, I'll need the ability to smash zombies to bits to get over a crap day in work.

The emails are always time delayed. I reckon you'll either get yours by 8pm tonight or 1am in the morning. Either way it has been already dispatched.

Yup, got my email, roll on tomorrow and working from home on Friday!

I have to say I rate Saints Row a lot higher than this game, it gets boring very quickly :(

I think you're probably right in the end Saints Row is probably gonna be better, but then again I think Dead Rising has always been pimped as a fun little slash-fest rather than a serious one.

Indeed. They've never hidden the fact that it's a short game, but stressed the multiple ways of doing things and finishing it in different ways. To be honest, with games like Oblivion, Saints Row, Burnout, all of which take hours upon hours to finish completely, it'll be nice to have a game I can complete quickly when I want a quick blast on something.

exactly why i want the game. I got saints row to tie me over and other games but when i get bored and need a break from them i can whack DR on and mess around for a while.

It's very vast from the 90 minutes I played this morning for things you can do, however, the control system is awful (aiming with the left joystick for example!).

I'm sure it will become second nature, but for now it's annoying. I do like the challenge of the save system though :).

Had this for a few days and its great.

Got killed on the first play through so re-started and just went for some of the achievements and easy PP points to build up my level. Eventually got killed again but restarted at level 16 and now playing through the case files.

What I found thou is that its impossible to do all the case files, scoops and save the survivors all in one go. I'm currently doing the case files and the odd scoop or save survivor in between waiting for the next case file to start.

If your going to do one scoop thou make sure you do the out of control one. Cos you get two hand chainsaws for completing it. :D

it seems the game and a certain competitor have broken the release date, so you should be able to pick dead rising up from them on the way home

Holds a competitor in main article

I have some credit at my local gamestation so I'll get it from there on Friday when I go back to my home town.

Anyone noticed that when you have the analogue stick directly forward you only walk? I'm having to run diagnally all the time to stop myself walking and getting attacked.

Stuck on the first Psycho as well :o lol

If you know it's a competitor, why link to a story with it in?

not many comments on this really! i will be picking this up 2morrow hopefully. Anyone with the face plate? wouldnt mind seeing it

Right, had a quick blast of this (reason why it was a quick explained).

First impressions, pretty damn good.

I don't think this is gonna be the quick slash-fest we all thought of. First 20mins was really hard, there are soooooooooooooooooooooooo many zombies in the mall and the challenge of getting it done within a time frame, albeit a big one, is something I didn't know.

Had an absolute mass of zombies in an area, no slow downs at all, a lot of interaction with the environment and some good sick-humour thrown in (Maddonna the dog!! ;))

Quick game though because I think it's a lot more involved. Definately gonna have a few hours on TDU and then some on Dead Rising, I think it's gonna need a bit of concentration to take it all in.

Overall though, this good be as good as we thought!!!
