Dead Rising

Just got my copy this morning, havent had a chance to play it but so far reading the opinions on here...looks like im going to enjoy this game. Got the limited edition metal case one for £40 so am happy.

Now to find time to play this, TDU, Madden07 and Saints Row...looks like its gonna be a long night of 360 action for me tonight:p.

Try and get the car stuck behind a tree, I'm not sure quite how I did it, I ran close to the walls making sure there were trees between me and the convicts and eventually they got stuck. Then shoot just the guy on the back who's shooting you (he's a pita and you need to time your shots between his) Once he's dead run up to the back of the car and use the gun he was using to shoot the other two. Not easy but doable.

you only get one game save slot, which you can save over and over again

when u save at a public toilet, u restart from there

if you save at the security room, u start from the beginning ( i think )

so save regularaly at the public loos, then don't save when you get killed, just load game

You start from the security room.

You also only have one save game per save device. So if you have a hard drive and a memory card you can have two saves on the go.

the lift outside the security office, i used it a lot, and always thought, hmm its empty, bet theres zombies in there later,

the one time i didnt think that, i got the shock of my life, haha :p i was eaten
 
GRRRRRRRR

This game can be so frustrating!!!

Just been killed for like the 6th time after finally saving the 2 divvys that were hiding in the womens shoe store after about 4 attempts.

I was killed buy the loons in the car, worst part is, i forgot to save when i got the 2 morons back to the security office

EDIT: On a side note, the Faceplate i got (from virgin) is cheap and a little tatty. Looks ok from a distance tho'

Seems like I am ganna have to buy this game.

One of the games that swayed my to get a 360.

Will post my views when I get it.

right mics mini review

gfx - amazing gfx, no corruption, it doesnt skip a beat, fantastic cut scenes and in game gfx are well polished, the amount of zombies on screen at some times is amazing
gameplay- gameplay is good, solid and fun, although some advanced moves are diffucult to perform + gun aiming is quite hard sometimes, and you struggle against some bosses

although i do have certain niggles - i.e the timeframe, i feel like im being rushed through the game, without time to explore

the save system is annoying until you remember to save in the toilets

the AI on rescue characters is bad, they will decide to stand and fight at random point
 
In saint's row, go to the train station, climb up above the tracks, wait for a train and then jump on the roof - then go for a ride. so cool :)

rofl, I did that and totally panicked when I saw it packed with zombies. Instead of firing my gun I ended up taking a snap of them coming at me. I died, and screamed and shouted lots. Stupid control system! :mad: :o

The NPC AI is as poor as HL2's. My first few deaths were when they swung a melee weapon at me by accident :/

Sister was gonna get this for me today whilst i was at work tesco (24hr one)/asda/walmart/comet didnt have it in! Only hope is maybe sainsburys! Any other places open at night i can get it from? If not may have to travel out of swindon a wee bit :o
 
i wont spoil it for others, but ive just been to the supermarket, rofl that was good, and easy (for once)

i am blown away by the gfx in the cut scenes :) which is unusual for me
 
Had a good blast this evening. The character models for the survivors are fantastic.

Otis is extremely annoying. As is the other cameraman, but in an entertaining way. Just killed my first psycopath. Took more time wrestling with the crazy control scheme (left stick to aim?!) which made it harder than it needed to be.

Can't see why people are complaining about the save system. Seeing as theres a toilet in every area, there's not a lot of downtime between getting to the next case in time.

On the whole, loving this game.
