Dead Rising

God knows, but i am settling in a bit better with the game, 1st thoughts were horrific, if i were to score it would have been 30%!

But this thread has put me at ease and my concerns are drifting away, cant wait till heroes ends and i think ill have another bash :D

yeah, i wouldnt even worry about trying to get an ending till your between level 12 and 20, its just nigh on impossible to do without cowering in a corner :p (there are 7 possible endings by the way, depending on how you play, how many people you save, how many of those nutjobs you kill etc)

I've done that, after bringing back the 1st guy on the roof, but when i died later on, it took me back to the start of the game.

You're not pressing that option 'save and quit'. That is the worse named button in the history of gaming. When you press it, it saves your stats but takes you back to the start of the game. Save, and turn of the console. NEVER QUIT.

Ahh Dead Rising, ive done EVERYTHING in that game, so have no reason to go back to it :(

dokko, I was EXACTLY the same as you with this game at first, I was screaming obsenaties at the screen and calling it the worst game in the world at first. But then I got speaking to a few people on here, and before I ebayed it I carried on playing... completed it about 50 times now and is up there as one of my best games of all time.

Keep going at it and I assure you, you will fall in love with that game... roll on DR2!

The Krono Guide to Dead Rising.

1) Don't take this game too seriously. For the first 10-15 levels just **** about, learn the map, try stuff out. Save when you can, but if you go up a level (assuming it took more than 5 min to do so) and then die, restart and try again.

Save what ever survivors you can (ignore everything in the first zombie attack before you meet Brad. You cnat save these people and you will only get hurt. Take their pictures thought.

Try taking good pictures the Reunion between the old bloke and woman on the roof is an easy 5000pp (the roof at the top of the elevator)

Once you get the slots there are 3 books that when in your posession make the mini chainsaws last for ever (or their abouts)

IIRC they are
criminal origins (found in the bookshop in wonderland)
Engeneering (some where in mall at the bottom of the lift IIRC the one under the resteraunt)
Entertainment (cant remember where this is).

Ok to get the mini chainsaws you have to kill adam the clown, he is at the wonderland broken ride event. If there is any event you respond to this is the one. Bring as many uzis and pistols as you can. He will run about with the chainsaws blow fire at you and blow up poisonious balloons. My fighting technique is to run back down the steps from the ride, clear that area of zombies and stay well back from Adam. He will eventially blow up a balloon. Just as he lets go of it shoot it and it will stun him Start shooting him to buggery. then keep back. Rince repeat until he dies. (if you run out of ammo there are police zombies about near the stairs. kill them take their guns.

Once Adam is dead go back to the ride pick up a chain saw and then stop the ride. A guard will get off. Follow him, he will open a shortcut back to near the lift. (on the way pop into the bookstore, grab the criminal book and the japaneese book and save the Japs (or at least get the high PP pic htey present after chatting to them) Grab all the remaining books for the chainsaws and then make sure you always have these books and 2 chainsaws and 1-2 Mixed drinks. After that you should be a Zombie killing terra-fiend. If you use up one chainsaw swap to the other and return to wonderland to get yet another chainsaw.

When you do the game properly, Save very frequently it is easy to die or mess something up. be religious about saving and make sure you know where every save point is. Ensure that you plan your routes bases on frequent saving.

Once you have done all this you should rock.

And whats the best way to deal with the guys in the car in the park?

use the queen as a weapon, throw it near a bunch of zombies and watch them squim!

Level up and those dude in the jeep are a breeze! Get a machine gun or Adams chainsaws

And deleting the photos will not take away your PP (well Im 99% sure it don't, long time since I played :) )

Yep. There are one or two pictures that you'll 'want' to keep (you'll be asked for them by certain people at certain times). You can mark these with the 'keep' tag and just keep taking pictures (new pictures overwrite old ones once you've filled your camera).

Again with PP stickers, once you've taken one you don't have to 'keep' it.

Just got this game a few days ago and I'm really not enjoying it. I don't mind the old school save system but the difficulty from the beginning is just too hard. It's unbelievably tedious doing the same short part of the game over and over again to level up, and trying to do the game being about a level 7 is too difficult. It gets dark too soon so you've not had chance to level up before the zombies get harder and faster. I think I'll be sending this game back ASAP. It's a shame too as I really wanted to like this game.

Stay in the locker room all night then.

I absolutely hated the game. Thought it was very monotonous, not very responsive and just didn't work. The idea was fantastic but somethign was just missing from it.

Then again, I hate Halo so it's probably me.
