OK I've become IT support for my sister again because I know about computers and stuff.
Anyways, the Samsung is a HD501LJ and is from her Dell system - which typically is out of warranty now - and it's slowly died.
First of all there was a standard Dell error which relates to it needing chkdsking to fix stuff, now even Samsung's disc util can't even see the drive.
It spins up and shows as populating a SATA port but the drive itself is not recognised any more.
Any thoughts on what I could do next?
Or is does it sound completely screwed?
Thanks in advance!
Paul.
