Everybody knows that Electronic Arts and Visceral Games are preparing the third part of the Dead Space series and we are happy to present you today a graphic novel trailer that hints at it. As the official website suggests, this is a new chapter in the Dead Space saga. While patrolling the planet Uxor, Earthgov Sergeant John Carver witnesses an attack on the Marker Site he guards which changes his life forever. John must now fight his way through a colony now in complete chaos as he begins to discover how important he is in fighting the Necromorph plague.

I'm pretty damn sure it will come to Pc at some point as the previous ones did

We bet that most of you were puzzled while watching the first gameplay footage of Dead Space 3. It didn’t look like the Dead Space you knew and loved, right? In fact, it looked more similar to Lost Planet than Dead Space and that’s a bad thing in our opinion. What’s even worse is that Electronic Arts is aware of this change and claimed that it was an important change: a change that was made in order to appeal to more gamers.
EA

In other words, do you prefer a mind-blowing niche experience or a more casual experience that would appeal to more gamers? Well, we’d take the first one any given day. After all, that’s why we love the Amnesia games. Imagine if Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs featured co-op with guns and other features to appeal to more gamers. Yeap, it would be awful for its original fans. And in this particular case, Electronic Arts is interested in their revenue instead of the gaming experience. And that’s what is really disappointing here!

Did the same **** with BF3, they ruin whole franchise's EA do.

Hated the stupid endings of both those games but everything that came before the finish was just great. Totally a playable version of Event Horizon. Yea...very linear games I know but the setting kind of excuses that (spacecraft). Hmm co-op, wisecracking AI...not sure about that. Lets see how things pan out!

Gets worse

EA president Frank Gibeau says that Dead Space needs a number of players roughly equivalent to the entire population of Norway to justify its continued existence. “In general, we’re thinking about how we make this a more broadly appealing franchise, because ultimately you need to get to audience sizes of around five million to really continue to invest in an IP like Dead Space,”

No more Dead Space games for me then..

I think I will give this a pass then thanks EA. The trailer alone killed the little enthusiasm I got left for the franchise.

Loved the first one, one of my favourite games ever and there aren`t many new games nowadays that manage to get on that list.

Sadly for me, DS2 already moved quite a bit away from the horror survival aspect towards more action and the game suffered for it imo.

But it did seem to get popular with the more casual market than the first. In that line of thought EA is doing the right thing financially making the next game Gears of Space 3 rather than the apparently niche survival horror. Also the main idea guy behind the game left EA after the first game which may also explain why it wasn`t nearly as good.
