Dead Space 3 - Thread

If its less horror'y than im ok with it, couldnt get past the bit in the first one where you got to some point where you had 2 doors to choose from... at that point I was a wreck and the game found its way back to the store.

I dont mind the monsters as such and infact if it was like Starship Troopers and you had clear open environments to kill them in im ok with that. Just the dark, pop out, screechy noise, slow motion stuff does me in.

This is going to suck. Dead Space is one of my favourite games, to the point that I rented it, completed it, returned it and then immediately bought a new copy even though I didn't intend to re-play it for some time.

DS2 was okay, but I was disappointed that it had none of the atmosphere or attention to detail that the first game had. They'd just gone for bigger environments and more enemies.

DS3 looks like it's abandoned its roots completely, all in the name of getting more people to buy the game and the inevitable DLC. Great job EA, you've done it yet again.

Bought DS2 in the last steam sale I believe, I'm maybe quarter of the way through having owned it for god knows how long. The game just doesn't keep me coming back for more like the first one did so I guess buying this would be a bad idea, shame because the games have so much potential.

I felt the more action, less horror approach of DS2 improved the game tbh. However, DS3 does indeed look more like Lost Planet and nothing like Dead Space. Seems to have no sense of atmosphere at all, it's just turned into a really generic shoot em up.

i love the horrors, it wont appeal to me that much if its just a plain 3rd person shooter

Its pointless if the horror is gone - thats the whole POINT of DS

Without it...its just another shooter.

A huge annoyance for me is the constant HUD popups of collectable items ....if you kill a lot of nasties and walk near them your screen is soon filled with those stupid popups showing pickups.

Dead Space 3 (8th Feb)

I know the first 2 games did not sell well on PC but come on EA a straight port in 2013 is hardly likely to change things & this micro transactions aspect will put some PC gamers off for sure :eek:

lazy is an understatement.

would be somewhat acceptable if they released mod tools on the pc so the community could do their jobs for them .

you will also hopefully the new engines will be pushed out at same time like unreal4 . so yes games looks in general will probably go up a notch.

Meh, was looking forward to this but after reading the above, not a chance now, I am not even going to bother pirating it either. Hope the game flops big time.

I thought this was the main reason for releasing new consoles, to see a fairly big leap in graphics? Unless taking a diif direction e.g Wii?
