Dead Space 3 - Thread

Looking at some of the youtube videos of pc gameplay the textures look very low res and if the gameplay isn't up to much I'm not sure this will be on my purchase list which is a shame as I enjoyed 1+2

they made the game very intense. now enemies spawn on you like crazy which make it very frustrating. i liked the general pace of the game in previous iterations.

After seeing how they are handling this game now, i'm not surprised

Then they will scream PC gamers are all pirates, HMMMMM maybe look at alan wake sales, oh also add dark souls as they are making the new dark souls on PC as well. (many more to mention but these are more recent to myself)

Lol, not a chance I would pay £40 for this! :p

Just had a quick blast at it, definitely not a true dead space game, if you're a fan of the first one and even the second, prepare to be disappointed. Constant enemies thrown at you every corner, game feels like gears of war to me so far.....

The graphics aren't "bad", look pretty much the same as DS 2, the lighting and shadows are superb.

Some quick screens (game is running very well on a i5 750 [stock], MSI 7850 2GB OC, 8GB RAM @1080p, everything on max except motion blur is turned of):

Going to uninstall it now, gameplay is boring and no suspense at all, music ruins it too.

Not even worth pirating, a low blow for the creators, can't blame piracy now :p

I thought about pirating, but then I still haven't finished a bunch of other games which I have already paid for.

Really disappointing, LOVED the 1st, second was alright... This just looks dire.

Pay £17 on Steam right now for ARMA combined operations, download DAYZ Commander, get on mumble or what ever floats your boats with a couple of mate. Survive for an evening. That will give you a MUCH better co-op experience.

So you pay $60 to buy this game and can pay another $65 for the microtransitions - plus a story DLC has already been announced (didn't EA do this with ME3 and lied about it been made by a separate team and it having nothing to do with the main ME3 development?)......good going EA. Back to back Worst Company in America award?

OK, I know that opinion is subjective but nice inaccurate representation of the game.

Gears of War? Unsure how this game could possibly feel like a cover based shooter, since the combat mechanics are exactly the same as DS and DS2. The game doesn't throw enemies round every corner. I have read that several later encounters can be difficult due to enemy numbers, but I've not come across them yet.

I think you have judged the game on the opening chapter where Issac escapes the Moon colony. Yes this is a bit more faster paced, but I think that we all would agree an escape sequence without bad guys chasing you would be rather dull. Once you hit the meat of the game the experience is very much is Dead Space. Is the game as good as DS and DS2? Don't know yet. But will judge the experience over the course of the game. Not an opening chapter.

Talk about a slight over-exaggeration for effect. But I am unsure why I would expect anything less here. Over reactionary posts are common place, and worse than GAF in many cases.

The DLC, and Micro transactions are no different from Dead Space 2. Read reviews, and online comments and you will realise the inclusion of the micro-transactions has no bearing on how the game operates. It is a short cut to gathering resources. You can gather all the resources you want via the game. The crafting mechanic hasn't been designed around this dlc. If it had been, then yes this would be an issue. Not forgetting you can buy dlc shortcut packs via a form of in game currency too. Just ignore the dlc like the majority of gamers will.

As for the DLC pack. No different from countless of other games including Dead Space 2. Severed was also announced during the game's launch.

Polygon have given this a 9.5, but if you actually read the review there's really no mention of atmosphere, tension, suspense or fear. It's very clearly a game that's focused on weapons, combat and enemies, which is exactly the same trap DS2 fell into.

The co-op mode seems like it's been quite well-implemented so maybe when it's super cheap I'll get it so my friend and I can play it, but it seems like if you want a Dead Space game right now, you need to play the first Dead Space. Which I am, incidentally.

I am on mission where I am on the space craft and putting the power back on.

OK, maybe I did exaggerate a bit too much with regards to the gears of war comment :p but that is how the game feels to me, the part were he was escaping was definitely like gears of war.

So far I have had nothing but 3+ enemies attacking each time (the attack frequency is a lot more than the previous games) and it isn't even well done especially where I am currently, they just hang from the ceiling so you can shoot them easily.
