The setting is absolutely perfect, but I'm really not sure if it's my cup of tea....I find third-person games really hard to get into.

Thing that gets em is a 3rd person shooter is great with a decent mouse and KB set up.

Now if devs arent going to redo the menu system for the pc version so I have to go and buy a 360 controller for my pc then im afraid i wont pay a penny for it.

I felt the same way. Mass Effect for PC changed everything for me. It does take a while to get used to the perspective but the quality of the game rewards you continuously and consistently for doing persevering :)

Game developers have an unwritten rule where every woman game character must have rather large breasts.

In all honesty it should be the law in real life too.

I'm going to get this on PS3. I haven't got a pad for my PC and having had the PS3 for 6 months and only have one game I think its time it company. My PC will be busy with Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3.

well got the weekly shopping in and somehow came home with this hehe , its a cracking game and very atmospheric... eerie shadows and distant noises really give it a tense feeling not to mention the occasional bursts of music ...

i love the fact it hasnt got a H.U.D and the control system is great once you get accustomed to it.. its running very smoothly @ 1920*1200 with forced 16xAA ..

defo grab this game if you like your fps dark and scary , but make sure you pump up the volume levels to high , superb stuff !!

Indeed. No hud really makes a difference and the health / energy status system really works. Does "forced" AA really make a difference? I remember reading that it didn't support AA at all

Just been getting to some Zero G sections and this game just gets better and better. Also had my first really nervous reaction. Was walking back down a corridor and got pulled along by a tentacled beast which was writhing around making it hard for me to shot him and free my leg before getting pulled into his lair!! Another neat thing I noticed is that the game keeps track of ammo packs so say you reload your weapon and the ammo pack on the floor has 10 rounds then after you have reloaded it has 5 left then it remembers that rather than the usual lazy method of losing the difference and the ammo pack disappearing. For years that bugged me but now EA of all people have put this feature in!!

question is
Is it worth losing surround sound to play it on the pc over 360?
PC has the best GFX of this game by far. Console versions use low res textures and have FPS issues. you should still get surround sound on the PC anyway. I am getting it via my Asus Xonar D2X hooked up to a 5.1 THX Receiver.

heres some zero g environment shots for you:D
