Dead Space Is Awesome!!

Anyone getting sli lag? I'm not sure if its my system not being able to cope with the gfx or just a sli issue?

everything max @ 1900x1200

never mind, just tested, yep, as usual. Another game that doesn support sli :(

went from a juttery 80+fps (juttery as in serious far cry 2 like mouse lag) to a 80fps smooth as a babies bottom after an hour of johnsons baby oil treatment :D

still, i cant play it right now as i am only just getting into it, am in the corridor, it blacks out, 5.1 sound through headphones, scattles and other odd noises = hardcore brown undies... i will wait for sunlight and folks to wake so i can put it through the speakers..... that, i can just about tolerate.

I have a major issue folks, I have a 2nd HDD where all of my documents get mapped to and it seems yet again this game is one of those games where the dev decided not to implement an alt method to save games if the user's default documents location in vista is on a root of a 2nd hdd.

UT3 had the exact same issue but UT3 was bypassed using a target switch on the games shortcut but I don't know what can be done about this game.

Any ideas?

I was going to get this or Fallout 3.
Now having seen that the guy is always to the left of the screen
and you cant do 1st-Person Perspective its not for me
thats to much like console gaming to me

So Fallout 3 has my money...

Have fun with the game guys..

your missing the whole point of the game, your forced to do this in an offset 3rd person view as it increases the tension and atmosphere, believe me if this was in 1st person view it would be half the game it is.. dont miss out on probably the best game released in beards !!

So how is the game with Mouse and KB? Haven't got access to my 360 controllers. Is it playable?

again i cant use console pads for fps anymore but i did try the wireless xbox360 controller and it wasnt too bad even for me, however i use the keyboard and mouse and it works flawlessly and is much more responsive, also you can flip the screen around much faster with the mouse ..

I'm torn too.

5.1 with the 360 version or my Senn 595's with Dolby Headphone...hmm.

I could just use the PC version and send it over to my TV but I cba getting my old wired 360 pad out and having it stretch across the room, I really have to buy that 360 wireless adapter thing for PC soon.

what are you using for your Dolby headphones? beeing looking for some for my ps3

Due to all the positive posts I decided what the hell and downloaded it from D2D - too lazy to go to the shops. Awesome game so far and runs really well at 1680 x 1050 maxed with AA and x16AF. I am using a 360 controller because this appears to be one of the few games when it just feels more natural to do so. There is also no way of binding movement to the arrow keys and I suck at WASD.

I am glad I bought this instead of Far Cry 2.

Probably of no help to you, but I have my "My Documents" folder in a 2nd hard drive and the game saves there without any problems. This is on XP though.

Is there some kind of config file that will allow me to raise the sensitivity above the maximum allowed in game?

I don't want to increase the mouse sensitivity in windows as it'll throw off my aim in all my other games.

Am I the only one finding this a bit...dull?
It feels like a trip back in time to the Doom 3 days right now. Yes the game is scary oOoO, yes there is immersive sound but it just feels like 'been there, done that'. Granted I am on Chapter 2 and probably haven't seen any of the BIG BAD's yet but it has yet to truly grip me. Doom 3 on the other hand scared the living balls off me within the first hour.

In its favour, I should say that the weapons feel good and meaty, as do the melee moves. I love the customisation options and I think the ability to purchase stuff from the store is a really good touch. Oh and PR smells of wee.

Well, played it some more today :D fixed the tram system, returned to the 2 guys from my ship snd enabled the tram system in the first room, thats it.

I had one oppurtinuty to upgrade my stuff, i increased the capacity on my weapon mag, and put 1 point in the armor (working its way along to extra hp). When do you get extra bits of armor plates on you? and what are the credits for? ive got like 14k so far lol... no idea what they are for :(

Use the credits in the shop to buy weapons, ammo, health and next level suits etc.

Just picked this up along with Stalker: Clear Sky, can't wait until I get home to get into it :) Guy in shop who served me was raving like a maniac about it being so good, I backed away slowly to the door :p

(free wireless from the Apple store opposite from inside Starbucks on Buchanan street :) Apple is good for something hehe )
