Dead Space Is Awesome!!

That's because you've started a new game... You keep the guns and armor by doing another "round" of the game on the same difficulty. You won't get to keep it.

*Edit* If you're trying it on impossible.

Got this for £8, am really liking it. This has probably been asked before, but is there any way to enable AA in this game? As the ingame AA is pretty bad. Doesn't seem to work when I try to force it.

Oh right, so that makes it ok then?

Are you for real or what. Are you serious? Real or not, it's the principal behind it all. It's gory, bloody, violent, scary and realistic, but it don't matter. It's not real

What type of character will it build exactly? Someone who is not scared of the dark and monsters? Someone who likes to see blood and decapitation at the age of 10??

Why would you want to give your kid nightmares?? Please answer that question, i beg you!

You're a bigger moron than the idiot on youtube!

It's 18 rated for a reason. It's not suitable for minors

Mary Whitehouse is in the house!

bought this game today after hearing about its supposed awesome'ness. Started it up...noticed the mouse lag in the menu screen that I had heard so much about but didn't care as I was going to be using my Xbox 360 controller.

Started the game and then got the ridiculous spinning issue where the camera would uncontrollable spin as if I was pushing up to the top-left on the analogue stick.

I've had a look for a fix to the problem but the only one that people seemed to suggest was to unplug the controller. But that would mean having to using the mouse and make do with the terrible response issues.

Anyone know how I can use the Xbox360 controller for this game without the spinning issue????

If you prefer to play it with mouse control, there is a fix to get rid of mouse lag.

As you have an Nvidia card this applies to you. Taken from another forum:
"Disable vsync in game and create a profile for deadspace in the nvidia control panel forcing vsync and triple buffering on and it's suddenly completely fine!"

As for the spinning around, if using mouse you need to unplug your joypad. If you want to use joypad instead of mouse then someone else will need to answer that. Unless unplugging mouse fixes it.

Not sure about mods for the PC version. Can anybody tell me why and who was projecting the holograms of Isaac's girlfriend? Because I can't remember and I don't want to play the whole thing again just to take note of the end. :(

If I recall it was an effect of the Marker. Can't remember the names of the enemies but in the final cinematic you see the shadow of one in the escape ship and Nicole appears, subsequently attacking Isaac as the screen fades to black.

Yeah, that last part made me jump! :(

I thought that it might have been the marker but I got a bit confused as to what was going on with the black dude and that woman who you enter the Ishimura with as she's constantly trying to prove that the black guy is upto no good. Sorry for the racial profiling by the way, I really can't remember the characters names.

Shes trying to prove he's no good cause she's a double agent. She deflects the attention off of herself so whilst you're keeping an eye on him, she can prepare to stab you in the back.

Never got around to playing this initially as I thought the control was clunky and didn't like the view................
Realized now that it's what makes this game so good.
Im scared to open the door to the next room at present. There's a freakin' morph that won't die and it wants a piece of me:eek:

On the subject of weapons:
I like the Line gun and Plasma rifle. Im upgrading both as and when. Im tempted to get a Contact beam for boss killing duty. Is it worth it considering inventory slots are precious??
Is the Line gun fully upgraded good enough for high damage situations?

The inventory is the worst aspect of this game imo. It would be nice to hotkey air cannisters when you start gasping and a morph is chewing your leg off!

Plasma cutter is good for everything to be honest, as for air I don't think I used more than one can ever in three playthroughs.

Plasma Cutter will kill anything.

Added to that, all the other weapons are useless unless max upgraded, even the "super" weapons.

It's a bit of a bummer to get a nice new toy then to realise it's not even as good as the unlimited ammo gun you've had since the start :p

Unlimited ammo? what game are you playing or is that on easy settings?

I haven't played it since it came out, so it could be my memory has failed me, but I seem to remember never running out of ammo for the plasma cutter... If it wasn't unlimited, it was at least plentiful :p
