Dead SSD?

I have an M4 256GB drive for my boot drive. I've updated the firmware after the 5000 hour issue.

The drive is only a few months old, and today when using the computer everything just froze, a blue screen came up and the computer rebooted. It then refused to boot and looking in the BIOS the M4 is no longer visible.

Can anyone suggest anything to try or am I looking at a dead drive?

Different SATA ports?
Different SATA cable?
Try in another machine?
Boot with a Linux live disk and see if it is seen there.

Also might be an option to reset the BIOS with either the jumper method if your motherboard has one, or turn off the power and remove the battery from your motherboard and leave it for 10 mins or so.

Weird. I turned it all off waited for a few seconds and started from cold and everything is back.

Apart from my new mouse going crazy, managed to log in and uninstall the driver and that appears to be ok as well. Think it was the new mouse driver that caused the BSOD.

Not sure why the M/B failed to see the boot drive on restart though, will keep an eye out and see if I get any other strange behaviour.

it can upset or corrupt the cmos when it bsod's leading to bios/hardware detection problems it wasnt your ssd at fault
