My deathadder seems to be doubleclicking. Google indicates that this is a common issue and normally a precursor to the mouse dying. Since I bought it in 2010, am not too fussed.

Have generally been quite happy with it. So question is, what do I replace it with? More of the same? Something else?

Main requirement is the two thumb buttons on the left hand side. I use them for back/forward all the time and would find it tough without it.

I had deathadder's for donkeys and had several iterations, really like the mouse - but I fancied a change around May time and picked up a a Logitech 502 and it's as good as a DA for me and i've been pleased.

I'd certainly recommend visiting a local peeceewerld or something to have a feel of the mouse in your hand first, so many of them feel like cheap plasticky tat these days...

I've just replaced my deathadder with a Logitech G502, and I love it!

The deathadder was perfectly fine, very nice mouse infact, but it was a replacement for a logitech G500 and I missed the extra buttons of the logitech, specifically mouse wheel left right (for fast switch weapons in bf4). I stuck with it for 2 months, but just missed the extra buttons too badly. So my DA is now an expensive backup, lesson learned!

I'm a palm mouse kinda guy, with average hands I guess, and they both felt comfortable to use.

I just got a Logitech G502 and a RAT 7 to replace my aging copperhead

Haven't decided which one to keep yet, still testing, so far I like them both for different reasons :)

if you like the deathadder then get another deathadder.

a £50 mouse lasting 5 years is pretty decent. £10 a year isnt a bad way to look at it.

the newer mambas seem to have much less of a failure rate on our side if that makes a difference to you. it seems like Razer products in general have seen a fairly drastic overall reduction in failures so they must be doing something with their QC as the trend is very obvious on our figures.

Thanks guys. Will take a look at the 502 as well since a couple have recommended it. Not sure I need/want all the extra buttons. My copperhead used to have two other side mouse buttons on the other side for DPI switching on the fly, but they hardly got used.

No issues with deathadder starting to kind of fail at this point. 5 years is a decent enough time. Was more wondering if there was something better out there that I should be considering, or deathadder was still one of the better ones. Good to hear that there's a reduction in their failure rate though :)

I'm using a logitech G303 which I have had for about 2 weeks now and its honestly the best mouse I've ever owned. It uses the same sensor as the G502 but housed in a much smaller and lighter body which makes it much more suitable for fingertip gripping. The sensor used in both is the most accurate one on the market at the moment so definitely look into both of them!

Also gone form a deathadder to a Logitech G502, took a little getting used to but finding it excellent now.

Deathadder Chroma.

I replcaed my 8 year old Deathadder with the Chroma, couldn't be happier :)

Mouse has a nicer feel to it.

I had several Deathadders, the first two had double clicking issues and the last replacement I decided to sell to avoid having the same problem. I replaced them with a Taipan and synapse aside, I love it. It does need a different grip though...

I also moved from a original deathadder 4-5 years old to a chroma and am very happy excellent mouse, old deathadder still going strong as gave it to a friend.
