Dealer problems

Yesterday I went out shopping for a new car, as I put a post on here saying how I smashed my old one up and what to get.

So I go round a few dealers and go to one more, I see a really nice Vauxhall Astra 1.6 03 plate for £3195. I take it on a test drive and it ran alright it was just pulling to the left, I told the dealer about it. He said I would have to leave a deposit before he fixed the car, and that I go back down to test drive it again today and if I was not happy I could get my deposit back. So I went back today, and the car was doing the same again. He shown me that it had all the tracking done etc, but still the problem was there so I asked for my money back. He told me that his boss has took the money and is not answering the phone. And told me that he would have my money there tomorrow ready for me.

So I get home, and about 20 mins ago he rings me up telling me they have changed all the tyres around and had the tracking re-done and it is all working fine again and wants me to test drive it a 3rd time! I reluctantly agreed, but I should have said no. And demanded my deposit back.

What can I do in this situation, should I ring him back telling him I don't want to drive it again and I just want my deposit back? Becuase that is what I want now.

Thanks

You are a fool for leaving a deposit in the first place. Plenty of Astras around.

If the car is still pulling to the left this next time, demand your money back. Otherwise you left a deposit on the understanding a problem would be fixed before you bought it. Its no different to leaving a deposit on anything, and if its fixed and you decide you don't want it then... tough.
