Death Wish (2018)

I remember all the fuss kicked up by "**********" ranting about this film when the trailer first popped up last month, specifically about how it's a film about an old white vigilante getting his rocks off by killing black kids etc.

Whatever your personal views on that situation, just like 99% of Hollywood reboots/remakes/re-imaginings I don't think it'll as "good" as the original Bronson film, which makes me wonder why someone as good at directing as Eli Roth is doing it?

****EDIT MODS - WHY IS SNOW FLAKES STARRED OUT?????****

Bruce Willis looks a lot more like Charles Bronson than I expected he would, so that's a plus. They've done a great job with the makeup.

A refreshing change and I hope this remake meets expectations.

Watching mature movie legends which are synonymous with actions flicks in their hey-day; transfer to crap comedy flicks is just soul destroying.

As an example, Robert De Niro (a true Hollywood legend) seems to have fallen into this trap. Can I name a decent film in the last 20 years since Heat/Ronan which De Niro starred which was not crap?

Clint Eastwood's swansong (Gran Turino) is great, all the characters Eastwood played rolled into one. Whereas other legendary actor's appear in all sorts of rubbish and it only destroys their credibilty.

I hope it works.
