Debit Card Help

Hey

My mum's Intelligent Finance debit card won't let me buy stuff from OcUk, due to an irregular spending pattern, I narrowed this down to the fact that she's never purchased computer hardware with it.

So I'm just wondering, if i ring up and pay over the phone with her card will the bank let me do it?

Something similar happened to me a couple of days ago when I tried to purchase something from OCUK. As I had been using the card a lot they had flagged it, so I simply had to call my bank and they went through my previous purchased and confirmed that I had tried to use it at OCUK.
A few minutes later it was unblocked and free to use.
 
If there's no way for your mother to call up the bank now to unblock it, you won't be able to use it and unless you pay for a saturday delivery, you won't get your card either...Sorry!
 
Might work, web transactions shift liability to the issuer (like chip and pin) so they're more picky, mail / phone is liabiltiy with the retailer though so banks often aren't so careful (imho).

Right first of all, Yes I did ring up, and spoke to "Yewen" who knew it wasn't my card, as he tried to resolve the issue with me last night, he was really helpful, and a got 50% shipping voucher. And he confirmed that It's because the bank either don't want that much money leaving, or because my mother doesn't normally buy computer hardware.
