Deced out 3 Series or Basic 5 Series

BMW have just released over 30 ex Olympic ActiveHybrid 5 series onto the approved use d website. They are all ultra low mileage 12 plate cars. They are all fully loaded. It does 45mpg combined yet has a staggering 340bhp.

Anyone buying a new base spec car when those are available is mad. They start from just 28k, which is about 20k under list price.

And if you didn't want 340bhp, ex Olympic 520ds, again with high spec and very low mileage, start at just 22k.

There has never been a more stupid time to by a brand new 5 series.

Though I agree with the rest of the sentiment in this thread that spending anywhere near this sort of money in your circumstances is totally insane.

It means fully specked out and mega loaded with bling, man.

Oh, SE with mfw and rear parking sensors.

Obviously M3 wheels go straight on, one set of tints later and you're onto a bad-man-ting

Post some links ;)

Disregarding whether investing the inheritance in something else entirely is a good idea or not, my thoughts with £40k to spend would be based on something like this (providing that the car has to be new);

It's not like it wouldn't be a great family car either. My parents had a Mercedes C Class when growing up, and me and my sister spent most of our family outings in that with no issues with the spacing at all.

Condolences for your loss.

If you watch the BMW approved used car website carefully, there are some excellent bargains to be had with pre-registered cars, where the dealers ordered the cars in December 12 to hit their bonuses. The cars were well specified and are being delivered in late Jan.

I've just bought a 328i MSport registered in December which is not even in the country yet - discount 28% on the fully loaded price.

I'm 6' 2" tall and have had no problem getting comfortable in either the e90 or the new F30. At least the F30 has an extra couple of inches leg room in the rear!
