Not for me, but need some advice.

Budget is around 20ppm for contract, needs to be cheap or free, less is preferable of course.

At least 5MP and xenon is best, but hit me with what you guys have that you think is good.

I hear good things about the Nokia 6220 camera but the build quality is a little off.

If you could still find it, the Nokia N82 would fit the bill. They are under £200 sim-free, probably even cheaper on eBay.

That's a great suggestion, i've looked at it previously and it fits the bill perfectly, but the problem is availability I think. Might have to go the sim-free route. I can see it sim free brand new at £250, is there a best place to get handsets online, i've never ordered a sim-free phone before?

Indeed it is, but they have no stock unfortunately. Will look on ebay, but extremely hesitant buying from there, especially with mobiles.

ah right

i bought 6220 classic on there for 110 last month that looks like it had never been used. they are really poorly built mind but i just wanted the camera (its amazing!) and wasnt too sure about the n82s buttons at the time

Yeah you're right, at least that's what I hear about them.

Anyone know of anything newer that might compare? Xenon flash isn't essential, just as long as it takes good pics. Upgrade is from a SE K850i.

Another vote for the n82 :)

Great wee phone... i was also a bit put off by the look of the buttons, but when using the phone its nothing, easy to hit and nice defined presses.

Pictures are great, flash makes lots of difference :D

Need to keep my eyes open for an N82 then...! The N86 looks great too, but you're right, it's still too pricey at the moment to consider.

Thanks for the suggestions chaps, feel free to throw any more my way, doesn't have to be Nokia!

I believe the K series Sony Ericssons come quite well recommended, but i've found with any SE phone that the build quality is certainly questionable.

Also Alex, YGM. ;)

how much is a c905 on contract thesedays ?

c902 camera is also good but personally i just dont bother without a xenon anymore. k800i is best camera ive had on a phone but theyre like bricks thesedays

Ta mate, replied.

Upgrade would be from a k850i, so been there done that, warranty repaired etc. The quality isn't what it used to be. I had a k770i and the keypad was never right, always had problems with it.

C905 seems ok, but once again with SE now I hear lots of bad things about the build quality. Anyone got one?

I think you're a month too late, the N82 is no longer available to buy at the Nokia UK shop.

I managed to buy a black N82 when it came back in stock about a month ago. I like it, but shame the screen res is a bit small for web browsing.

You can check what phones have/are going to have a xenon flash by going to http://www.gsmarena.com/search.php3 and on the 'Camera flash' dropbox, select 'Required, xenon'.

Yeah, a bit too late, but the contract still has a month or so I reckon, and really it'd be a new handset that's needed as opposed to trying to get one second hand, the warranty is too important.

Thanks for that link, very useful.
