Decent Gaming Computer

Hey Guys,

Just wanting to know what set up would be good for programming games, editing and recording HD games footage with games such as Metro Last Light.

Not sure if I should go with AMD over Intel and Nvidia, I already have a SSD and Harddrive for storage so I wont need that in the build.

Any suggestions are welcome.

If you do go with Intel go with the new Haswell processors, they are much better.

Have a PSU that has 850 watts and a Blu Ray player, other parts are quite old so I wont be using them.

Depends on the budget, could easily be either an FX8320 or a 4670K.

But I wouldn't base my purchase on the consoles just yet.

Budget is around £800, windows 7/8 I can get for free with dreamspark so I'm fine with that.

Intel i5, though for your needs the i7k may suit you better.

I'd lower it to a 670/7950 and get an i7 4770K with what Potty's recommended.
Although I probably wouldn't get an MSI board.

Been Offered The AMD FX-9370 from a local computer shop for £150, I know this is a good price but how does this compare to the I7 4470K as that is only £120 more.

As the 9370 is an over locked 8350 that's a very fair price.

Id personally get the 4770k though.

Bear in mind you'd have to fork out for a high end motherboard to contain the 9370's power..

Just a clocked FX8350, I don't buy a local E-tailer having one of those chips and selling at 150 personally, makes no sense.

Guaranteed to be a decent chip, seems a good deal to me.
