Lads,
have a couple of lads going ahead with an E6300 or E6700 purchases. They're after a good value board (nothing too extravagant or fancy, so multi GPU isn't important)........I'm running an ASUS P5W/X6800 myself so I think thats a bit more than they'd like to spend. Am I right in thinking aloing the Gigabyte lines as a recommendation (DS3 or DS4) ?
Will probably be sticking 2gb in it, so are there any issues with these boards and likes of the Geil or OCZ memory kits? They'll probably only be sticking a solid mid-range gfx card ino the board along the lines of a 6800GT etc so you can imagine it wouldn't be a top range system..
Any suggestions ?

Cheers

What about the P5B, I have the cheapest one, with the latest bios it rocks, 2GB Geil ram, 6600, I can bench it at 3.6Ghz, runs everything at 3.4Ghz.

Cheers Socaddict,
how do you find the X1800 in that rig ?
X1800 seems fine. Haven't really given it a right strain yet, main game being DoDS, which is happily plays with pretty much everything on full, HDR and 4x AA/8x AF, generally getting around 100fps.

Such a difference from the old X700 AGP I used to run things on in my old rig.
