I realise that this is very subjective, but what do people use as their main media player. I was running Amarok on my linux laptop and loved it - haven't seen anything that came as close for speed and functionality - I have 1TB of MP3's all cataloged neatly with the tagging correct :p
I tried using kde4 on windows and amarok, but it is buggy as hell.
Linux isn't an option anymore so I need a decent media player for windows, I dont have an ipod so itunes is a waste of time - what is everything else using?

KMPlayer is my choice. Nice shiny Look to it, and has more options than you can wave a ****** stick at.

For a main media player if i'm playing lots of music i use media monkey, which is like the firefox of media players, it can literally do anything you want. In fact i think if you install monkeyrok it looks exactly like amarok, definitely give it a go. Although as far as i was aware they've porting amarok to windows aren't they? Only alpha/beta though. Either way MM is still better than Amarok :p

For my default player i use foobar, so i can open up and play files from explorer as quickly as possible.

But winamp is so fugly and has a confusing ui :(

What does winamp really do thats special anymore? I remember back in the 90's early 2000 it was the thing to have, but its not really moved on much over the years in fact its been left behind, and i think its fairly bloated now days unfortunately. Used to be a big user though.

As mentioned if you're looking to video as well then it goes like this for me:
Audio defaul: Foobar
Audio normal (Jukebox syncing ipod etc): MediaMonkey
Video default: VLC
Video for other stuff: Media Player Classic with ffdshow.

I had been using foobar to play flacs, and it is very quick, but i had a lot of difficulty in skinning it - adding and patching the dll files was pain and i found that a lot of the required plugins were out of date. I have switched to winamp because i find the UI is a bit easier on the eyes, and i havent noticed any difference in sound.
