Hi all,

Just got a nice new bed so looking for some ok/decent pillows. I know some might think 'any pillows will do', but if you can give any recommendations please do.

I've herd them memory foam things are meant to be ok? Also herd some good things about Siberian goose feathers?

When I got my new bed from Ikea, I took a look at thier pillow range. They do the pillows for certain sleeping positions if you sleep on your, back, side or front. These were like those memory foam things. Not comfy at all in my view.

Feather filled pillows, I dont really like either. They seem uneven to me. Abit lumpy.

I settled for 4x 'Gosa Vadd' @ £6.35. Ive had them around 3 months now. Still like new. Be good for another 6 months I reckon.

We have double support goose down pillows, extremely comfortable, not cheap, my wife got them in Bentalls of Kingston.

Got some Hungarian goose down pillows from John Lewis for £90 a pop and I can't overstate the difference they've made to my night's sleep. However I could probably have achieved the same effect for half the price so don't go crazy ;).

I am yet to find the ideal pillow after 41 years of searching. Memory foam never worked for me and I have tried all sorts cheap and very expensive but I still search the perfect pillow. :(

I have a cheapo pillow that has my groove for my head as I sleep on my back. I want to try a foam one but they seem expensive.

Am I the only person that could sleep on a hardwood floor and get the same level of comfort as I get form a bed?

I would never buy an expensive pillow purely because, on occasion, I wake up with a dribble-soaked pillow - and not even the best pillow-protector can stop my saliva :D

If you insist on buying feather ones... Check them before you buy.

I've known people to buy £50 a pop 'deluxe goose feather' varieties without even testing in the shop first. Sure enough, said pillows contain scratchy bits (i.e. feather stems) that poke through the cotton and make them worse than £5 jobs. If it feels rough in the shop, imagine how it'll feel in your bed. Test them first!

At least with foam or cheaper materials, you know where you stand.

I have got this lavender ones from next very comfy but they don't smell of lavender anymore did for about 6-8months.

I too can sleep anywhere especially in tents LOL
