Decent Space RPG?

I tried EvE once.....got me hooked for a little while, while I learned the basics, then I joined the EveUni to really learn about the game.....after attending some of their classes and being inolved in fleet runs and combat, I stopped playing.

That game is like joining up for the RAF....the level involved in learning how it all works, the lingo they speak on mumble.....everything is rediculously serious, to the point where I actually believed the people the run the uni dressed in some kind of Space commander outfits while at home.

I love how its all player driven......but I certainly wouldnt call it a "game"

Surprised no one has mentioned Mass Effect (trilogy) yet, best space RPG ever

Played & loved the first 2, still need to get the 3rd one :) I was after something a bit more in depth though (I currently have a lot of spare time).

I've ordered X3 now, just waiting for the download. I couldn't wait until the sales lol. No doubt it'll be up for £5 in the next few weeks!

As you can tell by the time, I am a little addicted to X3 .

Just waiting for my sector trader pilot to get to level 8 so I can stick him in my Mercury Super Freighter (bought cheap, 2nd hand!) to run my second universe trader. My first universe trader is doing nicely, level 25 already & is making me a lot of money.

Think I'll kit out a fighter ship next & make a start on the campaign, looks like there are some useful stations in Omicron Lyrae.

Once I've got a good few universe traders going I'd like to get some bigger stations (power/ore?) going. What's best for money?

I am a fighter pilot in Omicron, it is pretty good for patrol missions, as the Xenon like to pop into neighbouring sectors such as Nyana's Hideout and Scale Plate Green. Had a good mission to escort a heavy freighter to PTNI headquarters, which had Xenon and pirate ships trying to attack the cargo.
